At Mindray, we believe in being responsible and ethical participants in our community by giving back through philanthropy, volunteering and providing resources where they are most needed. Our latest initiative in partnership with the Centre for microFinance (CmF) contributing to the Rajasthan School Library Promotion Project (RSLPP) exemplifies this commitment.
RSLPP is a pioneering educational initiative that establishes model libraries to significantly reinforce the comprehensive development of underprivileged children in India through the power of reading. This project acknowledges the profound influence of reading on children and aims to foster a rich environment of children’s literature in various languages that will empower young minds and ignite their imagination.

Mindray’s role in this project has been multi-faceted. We provided funding to strengthen the infrastructure of 40 government school libraries within the RSLPP network. This included minor repairs, renovations, and procurement of curated collections of children’s books, magazines, stationary etc.

1. Planning and Identification: Thorough planning meetings were organized to identify 40 government schools where the model libraries could be developed. The team identified the schools through joint visits with government educational officials.

\r\n2. Finalization and Facilitation: Once the suitable schools were identified, the CmF team secured facilitation letters from the district and block education offices to grant permissions for the necessary development work.
\r\n
3. Refurbishment and Procurement: The model libraries were refurbished, including minor repairs, renovations, and wall paintings. A comprehensive set of children’s literature and basic furniture were procured from trusted publishers and suppliers.
\r\n\r\n
4. Packaging and Delivery: Once school-wise packaging of materials was completed, these were delivered to the respective schools. Each library received a curated collection of 312 books, stationery and other resources required to create an engaging reading environment.

The impact of this project is undeniable. Approximately 8000 children from grades I to VIII across 40 schools will benefit from this initiative once the academic sessions resume in July 2024. By providing these resources, we are not only enhancing the educational infrastructure but also fostering a lifelong love for reading among these young minds.
